Christmas celebrations at my grandmother's (l to r): Chenee(cousin), Nicole (cousin), Sian (sister) and IThis year (2007) has been a year of contrasts. I brought in the year in Holland with my sister and some good friends, hoping that the year would bring great things and in many ways it has but it brought its share of challenges, new perspectives and the ending/beginning of chapters. The first half of the year saw our fantastic odyssey to the Polar Circle and Norway, my discovery of Spain, the completion of my Masters degree and a 100+ page thesis on corporate rebranding and the role of leadership. Living in Sweden and exploring Europe opened my eyes to the difference in the way we live and our perspectives, traditions and behaviours in the developing world and those in the old, developed world.
I started to question what is life really about and what do I want my future to look like. After the completion of my degree, a pleasant graduation ceremony and a whirlwond trip to Paris, London, New York and them home life started to change. Returning to my parents' home, dealing with living with family again, especially parents and then the challenge of finding meaningful work here in my country.
Well, the year is at its end and looking back I can say that I know that all that took place this year will serve as a springboard for a great year in 2008. I am certain that I enter 2008, wiser, smarter, and I pray more open, positive and welcoming the good things to come .
All the best to you and Happy New Year 2008!
